QPR v Saints Analysis Empty QPR v Saints Analysis

Saints go to Loftus Road with more than just a sporting chance.
QPR are not what everybody thought they were going to be, and a flick through the STATS on my SHOTS ON TARGET feature makes for interesting reading.

http://www.saintsonthesettee.co.uk/shots_table.html

It would seem that QPR have been totally bossed on the road ...

Sheff Utd 11 QPR 3
Bristol City 9 QPR 2

And although they have recorded more SHOTS ON TARGET at home, they haven't been achieving anything to shout about ...

QPR 8 Barnsley 5 ( Barnsley reduced to 10 men )
QPR 7 Doncaster 2 ( Doncaster really struggling to accumulate SHOTS ON TARGET )

A glance at QPR's opponents to date, and you notice that three of the four teams are 18th, 19th and 20th in the SHOTS table.

Three of Saints opponents have been in the top half.

In short, Saints can get a result at Loftus Road.

Prediction
QPR 1 SAINTS 2

OK. You've convinced me SOTS. Don't think we will win the game, but confident now that we can get a draw there. Something like 1-1.

QPR are without new signing Ledesma because he was red carded against Bristol City.

Can't imagine that a team with Dexter Blackstock up front would be a serious threat.
The lad seemed to really struggle to get a place in the team at Southampton.
So reasonably confident that Saints won't leave Loftus Road empty handed.

Very Happy

Was the performance as bad as the result?

To draw level with 10 players takes a lot of effort.
To have that effectively binned by an inept linesman must have deflated the players as much as fans. The third goal was immaterial. And the fourth at the death even more so.

Bitterly disappointed, but is it really as bad as the league table suggests?
