Birmingham v Doncaster
This really ought to be a home win for Brum. Doncaster look dangerous because they have points on the board and an away win to their name at Derby. They certainly run a tight ship, but their SHOTS ON TARGET Stats are poor. Think Donny will get numbers behind the ball, but expect Birmingham to break them in 90 minutes.

HT - Draw / FT - Birmingham

Palace v Swansea
More was expected of Palace this season than so far shown. They are averaging a pretty poor 3/4 SHOTS ON TARGET each game, so little wonder they have drawn 4 blanks in front of goal in their last 6 games! Swansea however, seem to be in good form and are certainly showing a much higher level of creativity in front of goal.

HT - Draw / FT - Swansea

Plymouth v Norwich
The Pilgrims have been woeful to date, and prop up the SHOTS ON TARGET table I have compiled.
Surprisingly though, Norwich have been superb, and the CCC may be a little misleading with regard to their matchplay capabilities. They have drawn three games with Birmingham, Cardiff and Blackpool.
But if results were determined by SHOTS ON TARGET alone, they would have a 100% record and be joint top with Wolves.

Wolves v Palace
It's difficult to see anything but a Wolves win here. I have scrutinised Wanderers form looking for fault, but they are consistently HITTING THE TARGET in double figures every match ( Home or Away ). Any team creating that number of chances is going to win games of football.
Before Saturday, Palace were really out of sorts. But they now seem to have finally found a groove, because the Swansea result was half decent. Before beating The Swans, they were struggling to create anything up top, running up four blanks in six games.
I am hoping that they will provide enough resilience to keep Wanderers out for 45 minutes. And thinking back, Wolves didn't really do the damage against Charlton until the second half.
Going back to the Wolves form - they have beaten some good teams on paper so far - but I suspect those teams ( looking at other STATS are not firing properly yet ).

HT - Draw / FT - Wolves

Preston v Forest
Preston, although doing okay on their travels, do seem to be a totally different team at Deepdale. Rampant to be precise. The only blot on their copybook is the Derby defeat in the Cup. But that aside, they really ought to have too much for a Forest side that started the season well enough, but just seem to have caught a cold recently.

HT - Draw / FT - Preston

Hey, those HT-FT bets of yours look a bit tasty! Keep up the good work.
Never really thought about the significance of shots on target. Interesting. Where do you get your info from?

Birmingham v Blackpool
I don't think Blackpool have managed to score a first half goal to date, but they do get numbers behind the ball. Birmingham ( not prolific ) in the early exchanges ( apart from 2 goals against Barnsley the other week ), struggled to score early against Donny last week, but did have a player sent off. I think The Seasiders are a little better than given credit for, and can keep Brum out for 45 minutes. But expect the Blues to do enough in the second half to win this one.

HT - Draw / FT - Birmingham

Crystal Palace v Plymouth
Palace seem to be getting it together. Losing in midweek can be forgiven, but the Swansea win at home last week augurs well for better results. Plymouth won at Watford, which on the face of it looks good, but it has to be noted that Watford have manifested the least number of shots on target so far this season ( hardly a team to put faith in ). Defensively they have been good, but midweek was a bad night at the office for them.
These two have only scored one first half goal so far this season, so reasonably confident they won't come out all guns blazing.
Take Palace to come out on top.

Well done on the Sheff Wed shout. Really unlucky with Burnley. Watford scored very late in the first half to take the lead. Otherwise, you would have had another nice double up!
