Saints v Blackpool Analysis
Saints have beaten both Derby and Birmingham without conceding a goal recently, and a home game against Blackpool seems a little less daunting than those encounters with - the recently relegated from the Premiership - Rams and Blues.
BUT, scanning my SHOTS ON TARGET table, it strikes me that Saturday's opponents may prove difficult to beat! Poortvliet's Dream Team are certainly starting to get a feel for TOTAL FOOTBALL, but looking at the fixture OBJECTIVELY, and not SUBJECTIVELY, I cannot help but notice how many times Blackpool have hit the target in their matches.
8 v Bristol City, and 14 v Sheff Utd ... 14!
On their travels though, Blackpool struggled to threaten Norwich, with just 3 attempts in 90 minutes. They needed a Burgess penalty to take a point away from Carrow Road. This, after being afforded 58% possession.
This suggests to me, that Blackpool set up differently on the road ... 4-5-1?
Norwich probably allowed Blackpool possession, with a view to drawing them out and hitting them on the counter attack.
Prediction
Southampton 2 Blackpool 0

With the young and speedy kids I expect them to be much to swift for Blackpool. It will be interesting to see whether we play Spurs youngster. He has been a goal machine so far at beginning of his career. Hope it continues for foreseeable future. Hope Bart is in goal as I feel he will soon be in position as our no 1 goalie.

Pool have scored against Bristol City, Norwich and Sheff Utd. So I have to concede, The Tangerines are probably good for a goal. But we did keep out Derby and Birmingham!

Even if we had the money - I don't think they would sell.
